
Probably like many of you, we spent a lot of last week staying up late watching the Olympics. Angela loves the gymnastics and swimming. She managed to get Karl hooked on them as well. So we stayed up later than we have in a long time, especially the night of the women’s all-around. read more »

We can’t believe our little boy is one. He has changed quite a bit since we left that hospital. Last night we celebrated his birthday with Angela’s Grandparents and Karl’s sister’s family. We camped at Fremont Peak State Park on Friday night. We had a great view over the Monterey valley (albeit, the valley was covered in clouds). The sunset, stars, meteors, and sunrise were all spectacular. We climbed the peak in the morning. And Thomas found out he loves dirt.


Thomas is walking all over the place now. He can get from the living room all the way into the bathroom in our bedroom without any problems. He’s begun to think of walking as a way to get places, although he still will reach for our hands or pant legs if we’re nearby, to make sure we come along with him. read more »

This week went pretty much the same, except that Thomas decided to grow up some more. Thursday Angela tricked him into walking after his push cart which caused him to take 10 steps in a row. We knew he could do this for some time, he was taking little walks here and there (from furniture to furniture for about a month ). Friday Angela set remotes and blocks as bate for Thomas on stools around the living room at a comfortable enough distance that he decided it would be easier to walk to them.
