The busy month of December has begun. We did some shopping this week. Thomas got a little bored of store shopping and even fell asleep once.
Monday morning we started our advent calendar. To our surprise, Thomas loves to help put the little day’s ornament on the advent tree. We have to distract him when he is done because he wants to do it again. That evening, we bought us a live Christmas tree. Since it took awhile to get it and Thomas needed to go to bed, we decorated it Tuesday morning. Thomas loved helping decorating the tree. We would hand him an ornament and he would walk over to the tree to where he wanted it. Then we would put it on the tree.
Tuesday night, Angela went to enrichment. She was pleased to see her broccoli cheese soup disappear, especially since it was the first time she made it, and didn’t really use a recipe. After the dinner, there was an ornament exchange with a white elephant twist. Most ornaments were great. In fact Angela was stolen from few times. She was sad to see the red ball with snowman go.
Wednesday Angela and Thomas went to play group. Thomas, for the first time, was a little shy.
Saturday after many errands, we left Thomas with a paid babysitter. Everything went well as far as we know. We were glad so that we don’t have that he was good for the babysitter, because now we don’t have to abuse free family babysitting all the time (still good to have it some of the time, though). We went to a Christmas party hosted by Angela’s visiting teacher. There was a small dinner and elephant gift exchange. Some gifts were nice and others were just funny junk. We ended up getting a card shuffler and a 30 cent gift card in exchange for an unopened hand mixer we had lying around.
Today Karl taught our primary class with another brother in the ward while Angela went to a Relief Society Visiting Teaching meeting with Thomas. Angela enjoyed it, and Thomas did very well (so much better than he does in our class lately). We are waiting to see what they will do with us next year. We are hoping for an older and smaller class.
