On Monday, Thomas and Angela went to a playdate. There were 5 other moms there. Thomas enjoyed playing outside with Ben (2 1/2 years old). They played in the rain gutter. He didn't get too wet until he slipped and fell in the wood chips near the gutter. http://mattnbecky.blogspot.com/2009/03/weekly-pics.html
The rest of the week was pretty much same old stuff, until we reached Friday. That is when we took our first campout of the year. Becky and Wayne joined us at Manresa State Beach campground. It was a very nice spot and there were very few people camping, as it was the first open weekend for the campground. We were glad that the week of rain stopped in time for our campout. It was rather chilly at night but we still enjoyed it. We tried out our new sleeping bags and thermarest pads (we are tired of buying air mattresses that get holes in them). They seemed to work out well. Thomas tried out a sleeping bag for the first time. We were glad to see that he stayed in it pretty well. In the middle of the night he had a little cough and we thought perhaps he wasn't warm enough so we brought him in with us. Thomas enjoyed walking around the campground (in the grass), playing with the food locker doors, and playing in the sand with Paela. One adverse effect of being near the beach was that the wind moved the smoke all over, it didn't just blow in one direction so it was hard to avoid. Karl built a sand castle with Thomas and Angela found a unbroken sand dollar.
Saturday night Karl enjoyed dinner with Thomas while Angela went to a girls night out.
We slept in today, especially since we had to move the clocks ahead an hour. We will see how Thomas deals with this today, but he will probably have the later bedtime of 8.
On the Thomas front: He enjoys counting 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 (not sure what happened to 1 and 3 and 9). He enjoyed the tent mommy made with the sheets. He sings one word with each line in the itsy bitsy spider song (itsy, down, sun). He has also added pretend snoring noises to his pretend night-night sessions. 3 new teeth have broken through the gums. The last in getting close. He is in a repeating stage. He repeats many things we ask him. He had a grump spell this week of throwing big fits about getting dressed in the morning. Hopefully that was the teething business.
