So last Sunday, right before church, Thomas lost Karl's ring. We know this because Angela saw him take it off the dresser and asked him to put it back and then got distracted getting ready for church. Right before going to church Karl asked " have you seen my ring?" We went to church and were then distracted by a grumpy little boy who did not have a nap ( we've decided a grumpy boy woken up from a very short nap is better than one who's had no nap at all). After he had gone to bed, we looked for the ring, but could not find it. Monday morning, Angela asked Thomas "Where did you put Daddy's ring?" To her surprise Thomas walked over to the exercise bike (next to the dresser) and pointed into a small hole in the console near the pedal. Angela asked a couple of times and then Karl did too, getting the same response. We tilted the heavy bike and heard the ring move. I guess our boy is smarter than we thought; not only did he understand the question and know what Daddy's ring was, he remembered where he put it over a day ago. How in the world he knew that the hole was there, when we didn't, we'll never figure out. We had to take the bike apart to get the ring back, but we sure wouldn't have found it without Thomas' help.
