Easter Eggs

IMAG0066We got the house.  Consequently, much of our week concentrated around obtaining a loan, cursing at the medical center who sent a $25 bill to collections 6 years ago because they had a wrong address (which is now costing us .25-.5% interest on our mortgage loan), soliciting bids for all sorts of home repairs, and learning a lot about fixing up real estate.  Only two more weeks until we close and start the fixing.

We did manage to have a little fun this weekend.  (And truth be told, we like the house fixing stuff, even if we don’t like the stress.  It’s like our own personal home makeover show.  Way better than having someone else decide what our house should look like).  Saturday morning, Thomas had his first Easter egg hunt with the kids from church at the park next door.  He was a little timid and unsure of what to do at first, but he soon caught on.  Although, he kept opening up everything he grabbed.  He loves the chocolate, but not so much the jelly beans.  We definitely have to keep the candy out of his reach and give it to him slowly.  Saturday evening we colored eggs with him.  He was so excited whenever we pulled an egg out of the colors.

P1070435Sunday, Thomas woke up to discover that the Easter bunny had left his basket outside the bedroom door with eggs hidden everywhere.  This time, Thomas knew what to do.  He was very upset when Karl decided he needed to change his diaper first.  Fortunately, Thomas was eventually able to find all the eggs with the help of his mom and dad.  And he had so much fun, daddy hid all of the eggs again for Thomas.

Oh, and we had to combat all sorts of illnesses last week.  Thomas’ cold.  Karl’s weeklong sinus headache.  Food poisoning on Saturday and Sunday (Karl had it worse, we think it was either bad mayonnaise or bad Indian food).  But it’s mostly gone now, so that’s nice.
