Yummy, the story of two turkeys.

Journal

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Thursday we went to the Duncan’s for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Angela brought a fantastic jello salad. Karl even ate it and he doesn’t even like jello salad. We had yummy Turkey (which Angela got from work), mashed potatoes, beans, homemade stuffing (Angela’s favorite—once you try it you just can’t go back), yams, rolls and ham. The missionaries were also there, so they shared a little message with us. Throughout the rest of the day we had some contests that Angela’s mom created. There were even prizes.  read more »

Angela had a lot of fun this week. Tuesday night she “pampered herself” at Enrichment with a foot massage / scrub. She also made a couple of 72 hour kits for us (which will be nice if we get caught in a California quake next summer). She was surprised by how much stuff you can fit in a can. Wednesday night she had her monthly book club. They did “Silas Marner.” Angela was supposed to lead the discussion, but they only had 3 people there, so it was more of random conversation.  read more »

A Chill in the Air

This week we were back to the same old stuff. We got back into our running after a week off. We were able to do it 3 times.

Karl did a ton of studying to get back on schedule, and also replaced his failing laptop hard drive (which took way too much time). Angela worked hard on a pricing project at work. She thinks that she deserves some of the pricing department’s money for helping. She did finally get a well deserved raise. It should have been a lot more though, but at least it is more. Perfect timing for Christmas.  read more »

Driving to Texas and Back

Journal

We drove to Texas for Grandmother Rees’ funeral this weekend. More about that at the end of the letter, but first a few comments about the rest of the week. We were pretty busy Monday-Thursday because we were trying to cram things in so we could leave this weekend without getting too far behind (it didn’t work—Karl has loads of homework). We did a few fun things though.  read more »

Grandma Rees' Funeral

Journal

Saturday morning we went over to the house (we’re not sure what to call the house—before it was Grandma’s house, now it seems a little strange to call it that) where we met most of the rest of the family. It was Angela’s first time to meet a lot of the people there, such as Uncle Joel, Aunt Laurie, and all of Raelyn & Dean’s family (it was actually the first time I had seen Uncle Dean since I returned from my mission).  read more »

Celebrating Halloween

Photos

We celebrated Halloween on Saturday with a bonfire in South Fork canyon with our friends Tina & Ruston, Scott & Corrine, Heather, and Sharolyn. Then we celebrated again on Monday by dressing up as a Hawaiian girl and Indiana Jones. Angela won second prize in her company's costume contest! And the Indi costume proved to be not too shabby an idea either (it was a last second costume suggested by Angela).
