Brrrr. It’s cold here. It’s been snowing pretty much all week. And it’s supposed to keep snowing for a few more days. But it sure looks pretty outside. read more »

Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.

Websites use RSS feeds to tell other sites and programs when new articles have been posted to that website. For example, have you ever seen the latest CNN headlines on a site that wasn't cnn.com? CNN uses RSS feeds to keep that site updated as to the leatest CNN headlines.
RSS feeds are a very convenient way of keeping about Rees family activities without having to constantly visit the Reeshome.org. read more »

Congratulations Karl!!!! Karl found out his grades for last semester on Friday. Last semester he received the best GPA he ever received in law school. On a low note, he had to buy a stupid patent law book on Wednesday that cost 260.00 (more than all his other books combined).
Both of us had Monday off. We had a somewhat lazy morning. Becky and Wayne stopped by to try to determine what was wrong with their computer. We played Scotland Yard and had homemade ice cream. The ice cream was great. Later that day we did some grocery shopping. read more »

Valentine's Day with the Buchmans on Mad About You:
Paul: "Why is it I love you any more in the middle of February than on, say, August 21st? You know, to me, every day with you is Valentine's Day. "
Jamie: "So, in other words, you forgot to buy me a card. "
Paul: "That's what I'm saying."

The first week back to school is supposed to be easy. Unfortunately, it was not that way for Karl. 13 of Karl’s 16 hours of classes were on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and he had about 15-20 pages to read for each hour (yes, they expect you to read before the first day of class in law school). So far he’s liked his classes, though. He has Business Associations, Wills and Estates, Antitrust, Patent Litigation, Patent Infringement, and Professional Responsibilities. So between Business Associations and Antitrust, he’s getting a heavy dose of economic theory. Meanwhile. read more »

Last week, as I was trying to make our entertainment PC run more quietly, I accidentally erased its BIOS. I won't explain how, because it will make me sound stupid. But after a decade of reflashing motherboards and never once screwing things up, I finally found myself in the dreaded position that they always warn you about--having a perfectly good motherboard become entirely useless because its BIOS is screwed up. read more »

"If a man hasn’t discovered something he will die for, he isn’t fit to live."
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

I was told these were named because flour and sugar were rationed during WWII. Not sure how correct that is, but they sure are yummy and gooey! Since I am not a big coconut fan and I don't usually have nuts, I have never used them in the recipe. Karl loves them.
28 graham cracker squares, crushed
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
12 oz chocolate chips
1/2 c. coconut & 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and then pour into 9x13 pan. Bake at 325 for 35 minutes.

Have a craving for homemade fudge, but don't want to slave away in the kitchen. This is perfect and it tastes good too.
1 bag Chocolate Chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Mix in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Put mixture in a 9x13 pan. Refrigerate until solid.
