To Oregon, California, and Back Again

Journal

The last nine days were a fantastic blur—over 3000 miles and so much scenery. It was a great way to relax from the winter and celebrate our first anniversary. Karl had the week off from school, so Angela took some Vacation days and we took a massive road trip. Friday we celebrated our anniversary in Salt Lake. We went to a nice restaurant at the Little American hotel and probably ate too much.  read more »

The Pacific At Night

Quotes
karl's picture

From the long line of spray
Where the sea meets the moon-blanched land,
Listen! you hear the grating roar
Of pebbles which the waves draw back, and fling,
At their return, up the high strand,
Begin, and cease, and then again begin,
With tremulous cadence slow, and bring
The eternal note of sadness in.

Valentines Day Week

Journal

This week was the same old stuff, except for Valentine’s Day. Karl had a few surprises for Angela on Valentine’s Day, like tricking her into thinking the car was dead and he needed a ride, and then surprising her with flowers and candy and a stuffed animal as she came out of work. It was sure sweet of him. Angela meanwhile gave Karl the best Valentine’s presents he’d ever gotten—a Venus flytrap and a large card made of candy bars.  read more »

Valentines Day Cards and Venus Fly Traps

Photos

Woohoo! I just had the best Valentine's Day ever. Besides being the first as a married man, Angela gave me awesome presents. Exhibit A, the humungous candy bar card below. Exhibit B, my very own Venus Fly Trap! It's the best Valentine's Day present ever. It's so cool. I just hope it doesn't grow too big and eat me.

What do you mean it's my turn to think up a title?

Monday through Wednesday have become blurry lately. Angela's getting more and more pricing work now. Apparently, she's now in charge of the whole project. It'd have been nice if someone asked her first. Meanwhile, Karl always has a ton of homework on those days. Angela got to go to her book club on Wednesday though. They read "Persuasion."  read more »

Good judgment

It is a capital mistake to theorize before you have all the evidence. It biases the judgment.

This week was a little stressful for Angela. One of the programs she needs for work is not working, so she may have to do it all by hand. AAAHHHH! Karl did a bunch of studying this week.  read more »

Ali's Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip

Recipes
angela's picture

Thanks to my cousin Ali I have a great recipe for Spinach Artichoke dip. Most of the recipe comes from her friend Jodi, but she added the spinach to it so I am calling hers. A few people have wanted this, so I am finally giving in and posting. My only request is that you invite me over when you have it.  read more »
