
Once we had a dryer. It blew and blew and blew until our clothes were dry. But one day, specifically Sunday night, it decided to keep blowing all night. And it blew and blew and blew until it died. And so Monday we spent $200 fixing it. Apparently, there was a 6 foot pileup of lint in our dryer vent. It wasn’t our fault—the people who owned our place before had put some wire thing over the vent so the lint couldn’t get out. Monday a new niece entered the world. Her name is Ciera and she is cute. Congratulations Jenny and Tavis! We saw her again Saturday afternoon. This time she finally woke up. We discovered she is much cuter when she is awake. We couldn’t believe how she could sleep through her older brothers playing loudly, but we’re sure that this is a trait that will be appreciated by her parents. read more »

This week was a busy and boring work week for us. Angela began month end reporting. Karl did his regular studies, the law journal, and started his new responsibilities as Executive editor. As part of his responsibilities, he had to create a “write-on packet”—basically, he had to introduce 150+ errors into an article so first year students would have something to edit in their upcoming application to next year’s journal. read more »
