New Furniture and Car Repair

Journal
angela's picture

This was a fun and not so fun week for us. Monday, Karl took the car in to fix his blinkers and to get it expected for registration. He came home Friday, $600 less in his pocket (including registration fees). No it didn’t take that long to fix it, but he got the breaks repaired on Wednesday, the blinkers were suppose to be fixed on Thursday, but after driving the car around he found that the “car repair” place didn’t fix it. He had to take it back in on Friday. So far so good, but we will never go there again.  read more »

It's official! We're having a boy!Nope, no names yet though. And we probably won't tell anybody once we choose a name. But you're welcome to leave us some suggestions below.

Oh, and don't tell Karl's sister Amy. She wants to be surprised. (I've heard of the couple wanting to keep it a secret from themselves, but a sister... that's new).

Doctor Visits

Journal

Monday was the big day. Angela took the morning off and got to sleep in a whole extra hour. Not that she was able to sleep—she was way too excited about the ultrasound. We first had her monthly checkup, where we heard the baby’s heartbeat again. We love that doctor—he’s fast. Our second doctor—the one doing the ultrasound—decided to torture us for an hour in the waiting room. Still, it was worth it. We got to see our little baby boy. Yes, it’s going to be a boy. It was really cool to watch him wave his hands around.  read more »

Ethics and Movement

Journal

Two big things happened this week. First, on Tuesday Angela felt a big whish from the baby. She has felt other little butterflies, but was never sure if that was the baby; this however, she could not deny. Second, on Saturday Karl took the law ethics exam (MPRE). He is glad to have that done, but we have to wait 5 weeks to see if he passed.

Angela went to her friend Tina’s house twice this week. They watch the BBC movie “North and South”. It was 4 hours long, so they broke it into 2 segments. It was a good movie and it was fun to spend time with Tina.  read more »

Readjustments

Journal

It was a week of readjustment. It's hard to adjust to not being on vacation anymore, especially when we suddenly have an increased workload from work we suddenly have to catch up on. We managed, somehow, but it made for a pretty boring week. The only event of note during the week was Angela's bookclub on Thursday night. They discussed Rebekah by Orson Scott Card. Angela liked the book, even though the characters were portrayed much differently than she had imagined them in her readings of the Old Testament. It's always fun see how other people imagine biblical characters.  read more »
