Did you see that!

This week went pretty much the same, except that Thomas decided to grow up some more.   Thursday Angela tricked him into walking after his push cart which caused him to take 10 steps in a row.  We knew he could do this for some time, he was taking little walks here and there (from furniture to furniture for about a month ).  Friday Angela set remotes and blocks as bate for Thomas on stools around the living room at a comfortable enough distance that he decided it would be easier to walk to them.  This helped him to feel a little more comfortable, and his walking distances have been increasing.  He hasn’t given up crawling.  In fact, that is still his preferred mode of moving, but we would call him a walker now.  It is very cute.  When we finally get around to it, we will post video of it.  P1050363

Another sign of Thomas growing up happened on Friday.  He and Angela went to the pool.  After playing in his floating toy, Angela took him out to play on the stairs (the only part of the pool he can stand in).  Thomas is a people watcher, especially when the people are kids.  One of the kids climbed up the stairs we were on and walked over to the side of the pool to jump in.  After a few times of this, Thomas tried to do it to.  He climbed out of the pool, which was new (he usually just played on the steps).  Angela grabbed him though before he could get far.  After a few times of this Angela realized he wanted to jump in like the kid.  So she took him to the side of the pool where the kid jumped and carried him in the motions of jump in the pool.  He really enjoyed this.  He was all too eager when Angela stood him at the edge that she had to hold him back some.

Angela went to Book Club at Rebecca’s house on Thursday.  Only one other person showed up.  Hopefully this will not continue to be the case; not that Angela isn’t having fun.

Friday night Karl and Angela went to a free play in the park, without Thomas.  Wayne and Rebecca were so kind to watch him so we could enjoy a date.  We enjoyed our picnic from Baja Fresh and the play was pretty good too.  At first we were a little confused by the western accents in a Shakespearean play (Pericles—one of the few Shakespeare plays Karl has never seen or read).  But it was an entertaining take on Shakespeare, especially with all the Western folk songs intermingled in.

Saturday, we played Frisbee, cleaned cars and the balcony and our old grill (so much fun to have a real grill now), fixed bikes, shopped, and basically tired ourselves out.  But it was a very productive day.
