Karl and Angela Rees

Well, this week, besides the Olympics (which we watched less of once Gymnastics ended) and a Wednesday Teppen-yaki lunch with Becky and Wayne, was pretty much the usual.  That is until Saturday.  It was actually rather ironic, because we were talking about food allergies and how they were likely behind us right before lunch.  Then we gave Thomas a piece of an orange, and what does he have?  Yes, an allergic reaction (at least we are 95% sure that is what it triggered the problem.  The eggs in his egg salad sandwich are also suspect, not to mention more allergenic, so we haven’t ruled  read more »

Probably like many of you, we spent a lot of last week staying up late watching the Olympics.  Angela loves the gymnastics and swimming.  She managed to get Karl hooked on them as well.  So we stayed up later than we have in a long time, especially the night of the women’s all-around.  read more »

We can’t believe our little boy is one.  He has changed quite a bit since we left that hospital.  Last night we celebrated his birthday with Angela’s Grandparents and Karl’s sister’s family.  We had homemade cake (Angela’s first attempt at a decorated cake) with Mango ice cream.  Thomas didn’t much  read more »

Here is cute Thomas as a 1 year old.

We camped at Fremont Peak State Park on Friday night. We had a great view over the Monterey valley (albeit, the valley was covered in clouds). The sunset, stars, meteors, and sunrise were all spectacular. We climbed the peak in the morning. And Thomas found out he loves dirt.

Thomas is walking all over the place now.  He can get from the living room all the way into the bathroom in our bedroom without any problems.  He’s begun to think of walking as a way to get places, although he still will reach for our hands or pant legs if we’re nearby, to make sure we come along with him.   read more »
