Well, this week, besides the Olympics (which we watched less of once Gymnastics ended) and a Wednesday Teppen-yaki lunch with Becky and Wayne, was pretty much the usual. That is until Saturday. It was actually rather ironic, because we were talking about food allergies and how they were likely behind us right before lunch. Then we gave Thomas a piece of an orange, and what does he have? Yes, an allergic reaction (at least we are 95% sure that is what it triggered the problem. The eggs in his egg salad sandwich are also suspect, not to mention more allergenic, so we haven’t ruled read more »

This week went pretty much the same, except that Thomas decided to grow up some more. Thursday Angela tricked him into walking after his push cart which caused him to take 10 steps in a row. We knew he could do this for some time, he was taking little walks here and there (from furniture to furniture for about a month ). Friday Angela set remotes and blocks as bate for Thomas on stools around the living room at a comfortable enough distance that he decided it would be easier to walk to them. Thomas has figured out how to scooch (army crawl) forward. He did it once or twice last weekend, but Monday is when we realized he actally knew what he was doing. He’s even got some favorite trouble spots—the shoe corner, the fireplace, the plants when he’s out on the patio. He’s also increased the number of places in which he can pull himself up from sitt read more »

So, we realize we skipped a week. But don’t worry, you didn’t miss much. We spent most of the week after Germany trying to get over jet lag. Actually, it wasn’t that big of a problem for us adults, but Thomas had major jet lag issues. And since our bodies had adjusted back to California very quickly, Thomas’ jet lag became very miserable for us. read more »

We watched it rain a lot this week. Karl’s weekly Frisbee game and mid season tournament were canceled because of the rain (well, actually because the ground was so wet and the city parks departments doesn’t like lots cleats tearing into the wet fields). read more »

We fed Thomas “solid” food yesterday. He’s been reaching for our plates and food a lot lately, so we were stating to wonder if he wanted some. Sure enough, he was all kicks and giggles when he realized that we were actually letting him put a spoon full of something in his mouth. We’re not sure how muc read more »
